Ofsted 2011: "Parents and carers are very supportive of the school and one parent's comments sums up the views of others"
"The children are known as individuals and their educational needs are quickly identified and catered for."
"We view education as a partnership between home and school, a continuous process. We aim to involve parents/carers closely throughout the child's whole time at school."

House Captains

To promote a sense of community and develop skills of co-operation- we have a House system at Sheddingdean. All our children are in one of four houses: Ash, Beech, Elm and Oak.

Each house is led by two House Captains from Year 6 and supported by two vice captains for Year 5. The house captains have been elected by the children in their house to lead and inspire them chi to work hard, support each other and take pride in the achievements of their house and the school.

House Captains meet regularly with the Assistant Headteacher to plan House meetings and House events. They also have to lead their House meetings and have an important role in our weekly Celebration Assemblies- presenting celebration certificates to children from every class.
